After BMHS, I graduated from Rockford Business College, then worked as a supervisor in Beloit Corporation foundry for 10 years. During that time my brother and I started a small printing company in Beloit. Patch Products has since grown into one of the top ten game and puzzle manufacturers in the country. Now that I am 75% retired, I spend the majority of my free hours in my wood-working shop making furniture (for grandchildren and others).Jacque (Brown '63) and I will celebrate our 46th Anniversary soon. We have two married daughters, four granddaughters and one grandson -- all in Beloit. That means attending plays, games, recitals, etc. which fills more of my free time. Looking forward to seeing all! |

After graduating from Madison, I taught for a couple of years in Livonia, Michigan. In 1971 we moved to Milwaukee. Over several years, I transitioned a parent co-op nursery school on the lower Eastside into two full day child care centers for 100 children from 2 through 12 years of age. When I completed my Masters, I did consulting work in the child care community, taught Head Start Teachers and ended my working career as an Instructor at UW-Milwaukee in the field of Early Childhood Education, teaching classes and supervising student teachers in the Milwaukee Public Schools. After divorcing Don Lybeck in 1979, I married Bob Friebus in 1993. Bob taught Sociology at Carroll for 30 years. I have a daughter who is an ordained United Methodist Chaplain in charge of pastoral care at a large retirement community here in Milwaukee. I have two granddaughters and Bob has a grandson who are the joy of our lives. We enjoy traveling and have traveled through much of eastern and western Europe, Russia and the British Isles. Besides some child care and exercise, we do volunteer work at the botanical gardens, two meal programs in Milwaukee, advocate for social justice issues and work on political campaigns. We enjoy life in Milwaukee! Our hope is that each person will come to appreciate the uniqueness, the richness , the joys and the struggles of the lives of others. Thanks to the reunion committee for putting this all together. |

After high school, I graduated from UW-Madison and worked at the School of Business as assistant to the Undergraduate Dean for 2 years, got married and when my husband finished his PhD in Chemistry, moved to Marshall, MN where we've lived since then. We have a son and a daughter and 4 granddaughters, ages 3-4 and a step-granddaughter 12. When our kids were in school I worked as assistant teacher at a preschool for 15 years. I also spend a lot of time as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. We have a cottage in northern Minnesota on Blackduck Lake and 200 acres of land 2 miles from there, on which we have 2 barns, a large garden, much wooded area with trails, a pond, and lake front on a small lake. We spend time up there year round. We have done some travelling to Russia (2x), London(2x) and Ireland. Life is good!

After High School I spent three years in the Army, two of them in Germany. I then worked for the Beloit Corporation in the Research Department on and off for five years. Went to UW for 1 ½ years before finishing my education at Rochester Institute of Technology. I worked for the University of Rochester and Rochester Institute of Technology as a photographer. I also did freelance photography in the Rochester, New York, area. In 1988 I moved to Sunnyvale, California, where I worked for three software companies; Claris Corporation, Vantive, and Siebel Systems. In early 2001 I moved to the woods of North Central Arkansas. I took up photography again photographing musicians and crafts people. Also did some freelance work for the Arkansas Gazette and the local Stone County Leader. I moved back to Beloit in early 2004 to be close to my family. I've taught photography classes at the Beloit Art Center. I had a one man show there in 2009. |

Unfortunately, I will not be attending our 50th reunion; I will be enjoying the Florida sunshine with my two daughters, their husbands, and my three granddaughters at The Beach Club in Disney/Orlando, that week. Since I will not be with ya’ll here is a little info on where I have been. Having left Beloit in 1977, we lived in Ohio and Michigan before calling South Carolina “home” in 1983. We did move back to Janesville for two years, and then returned to South Carolina. Following my career as a “stay-at-home Mom”, I started a new career at the University of South Carolina as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Sports Medicine. We coordinate health care for our 500+ student-athletes. FYI; both of my daughters, Leslie and Krisdee Ann are University of South Carolina Alums! i.e., “Gamecocks” My daughters and I have been steeped in family genealogy research and have found it fascinating. This led to trips out East (Hartford, Conn.) to learn more about the Hart Family. In fact, the Harts settled (1853), on Turtle Creek; thus Hart Road and Hart School. Another family branch being the Alcorn’s, coming from Derry County, Ireland to Lancaster, Wisconsin. This is quite an adventure and a good family project, I highly recommend it! God continues to bless us abundantly, and I am thankful. Best wishes to all of you, Class of ’62 “Purple Knights”! |
