I recently retired from Sentry Foods.  I still play the organ part-time at Sun Valley Presbyterian Church, as I have since 1956.  My two granddaughters, ages 8 and 5, live in Spooner, WI.

Following graduation from the Illinois Institute of Technology, I entered graduate school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where I met my future wife, Sandy. We married after completing our studies in 1971.

We settled in Fond du Lac where I worked as an R&D engineer and later as VP Engineering for Giddings and Lewis. Sandy taught bacteriology at the UW – Oshkosh.  Our daughter, Beth, was born in Fond du Lac.

When I accepted a position at Gould Motion Control Division (Racine) in 1982 we relocated to Greendale. Embracing the craft that she loved, Sandy transitioned from her career in academia to become a nationally known knitwear designer and instructor.

In 1988 we relocated again, this time to West Chester, PA  not far from Philadelphia, where Sandy grew up. I held various positions in Engineering and Operations management at Mars, Inc. until retiring in 2005. Following my retirement, we enjoyed trips to Alaska, Brazil (to visit Sandy’s relatives), Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Iceland among others. After 40 wonderful years together Sandy died of pancreatic cancer in 2010.

Beth (pictured) earned her MD and PhD from Northwestern University and now is a Professor at Stanford.

In 2017 I moved to Brentwood, CA to be closer to Beth and am involved in Rotary, volunteering for local non-profits, and planning future travel adventures. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with friends from the Class of '62.

I enjoy volunteering at many places such as Beloit Hospital, Meals On Wheels and Caritas.  I work at a polling place, this year will be a busy one.  Sewing is one of my hobbies.  In the warmer months filling any extra space with flowers and their care keeps me busy.  I have 7 grandchildren from ages 11- 21.  My husband went to be with the Lord February 6th., so a new adjustment to deal with.

Unfortunately I’ll be unable to attend the 50th Reunion in October.  I’m really disappointed as I looked forward to it.  Since I can’t attend, I'll share a little more than usual about my past  50 years. I spent most of my adult life in Florida, where I was a trial attorney for more than 40 years.  I really enjoyed my profession, and had many exciting and interesting trials.  One of my trials became the subject of a book and a motion picture called “Switched at Birth.”My wife, Pamela, and I have been married over 20 years.  We live in Naples FL (winter) and Rancho Santa Fe CA (summer), and we enjoy boating, golfing, traveling, exercising, and entertaining.   For the past 20 years, from time to time, usually in one month trips, we toured the US in a RV,  and we managed to visit every state except Hawaii (for obvious reasons) in the RV.  We owned a home in Whitefish Montana for 10 years, and during that time we hiked every trail in Glacier National Park and summited a few mountains.I have two children, Sara and Ford, and both have become successful entrepreneurs.  Sara founded and owns a company called “Spanx”, and Ford founded and owns a company called “Zingle”.  If you’re interested in seeing what these businesses do, please visit spanx.com and zinglenow.com.  Ford has two girls, Kelton, age 6, and Peyton, age 3.  Sara has one son, Lazer, age 3.I am happy and healthy, and send my best wishes to all my classmates.
